The Green Group is a General Haulage, Pallet Network and a Warehousing business that is looking to recruit an HGV Technician to work in our Workshop on site at our Head Office, Maltby. We currently have 150 vehicles and 200 trailers. Hours of work will be 12 hour shifts, on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Role will involve to:

  • Maintain, inspect & repair vehicles and trailers.
  • Prepare, present and accompany all HGV vehicles for annual test.
  • Carry out periodic safety inspections to all HGV vehicles to DVSA standards and higher.
  • Attend breakdowns or accident damaged vehicles and carry out permanent or running repairs as required.
  • Ensure all relevant health & safety legislation is adhered to.
  • Paperwork – Must be kept up to date, make sure it’s completed and correctly filled out in a timely manner.
  • Update of records/defects via the workshop system.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping to keep all areas in a safe and clean condition.
  • Operate Fork Lift Trucks if required to do so if trained.
  • Keep within ISO standards ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO18001.
  • General servicing and fitting mechanics. Liaising with Head Management on workloads and time scales.

We need someone who is customer focused, is happy to be kept busy and can work under pressure and worked within a general haulage/logistics environment.

Role will involve:

  • Engaging with the customer in a professional manner
  • To have full understanding on how to process customer orders
  • Monitoring jobs, progress chasing, ensuring vehicles are on time, update TMS (Truckcom), report any delays to customers
  • Deal with any POD requests for customers assist with invoice queries report any unvoiced work
  • Dealing with customer enquiries promptly and providing excellent customer service
  • Sending and replying to all emails from customers with updates and lead times
  • Accessing TMS to check times of deliveries and loads are planned according

Job Description:
The Green Group is a General Haulage, Pallet Network and Warehousing business that is expanding at a fast pace. We are looking to recruit Transport Planner/Shift Manager at our Head Office based in Maltby, Rotherham, working on a 4on 4off shift pattern, nights.

Our transport office environment is very busy and you will not have a chance to be bored. Therefore, we need people who are happy to be kept busy and can work under pressure. Provide dedicated customer service, have initiative and worked within a General Haulage environment.

You will be responsible for the execution and planning of the drivers work schedule, making sure this is done efficiently. When performing the role you will need to ensure the service to our customers, quality of the driver performance and compliance is maintained. A vital part of the role will be communication with the day planning team, updating on changes and working closely with de-briefers and other Shift Managers to ensure that there is a seamless pass over from nights to days and shift to shift.

Role will involve:

  • Pre Brief drivers and allocate work as planned.
  • Make any changes needed to the plan, ensure that the work flows throughout the shift
  • Delivery performance remains at the agreed KPI and that any non-conformance is investigated and escalated accordingly.
  • Ensuring de-briefers are adhering to their work requirements
  • Ensure spot checks on the loading of trailers to ensure that it’s being done correctly
  • Compile accurate shift report, with smooth hand over of shift with next Supervisor.
  • Encourage team work and lead the team that work directly and indirectly for you to ensure solutions to problems quickly and without hesitation
  • Ensure that the facilities are safe, clean and organised
  • Monitor fuel cards, Tacho Card/Vehicle downloads and all defects are completed/reported.
