Title: Transport Shift Manager - Maltby
Description:

You will be responsible for the execution of the drivers work schedule that has been created by the Planning Department, making sure this is done efficiently. When performing the role you will need to ensure the service to our customers, quality of the driver performance and compliance is maintained.

A vital part of the role will be communication with the planning department, updating on changes and working closely with the other Shift Managers to ensure that there is a seamless pass other from days to nights and shift to shift.

Summary of Position:

  • Pre Brief drivers and allocate work as planned.
  • Ensure the drivers are dressed in the correct PPE as required prior to departure.
  • Monitor jobs, progress chase and ensure Truckcom system is maintained to service customer requirements
  • Make any changes needed to the plan, ensure that the work flows throughout the day
  • Delivery performance remains at the agreed KPI and that any non-conformance is investigated and escalated accordingly.
  • De Brief drivers accordingly to ensure that jobs have been completed correctly, vehicles washed, filled with fuel and tachograph information is downloaded at the end of each shift / working week.
  • Day to day supervision of the operation and assist with the implementation of the Truckcom system and new procedures.
  • Ensuring returns are handled and dealt with as per customer requirements.
  • Ensure spot checks on the loading of trailers to ensure that it’s being done correctly
  • Compile accurate shift report, with smooth hand over of shift with next Supervisor.
  • Encourage team work and lead the team that work directly and indirectly for you to ensure solutions to problems quickly and without hesitation
  • Ensure that the facilities are safe, clean and organised
  • Monitor fuel cards, Tacho Card/Vehicle downloads and all defects are completed/reported.
  • Ensure driver infringements are signed off quickly
  • Assist with loading and unloading when required
  • Raise any non-conformances immediately to relevant person and/or Line manager.
  • Maintain compliance of H&S, ISO9001 and 14001, policies and procedures
  • Support any role if needed to cover sickness & holidays
  • Carry out training in any other roles and comply with correct processes

Experience and Skills

  • Experience of working in a busy transport office (General Haulage environment)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Drivers Hours, WTD and Road Transport Regulations
  • Strong people management skills, leading by example and engaging with colleagues at all levels
  • Ability to train and develop people
  • Knowledge of computerised scheduling and driver management packages
  • Excellent IT, communication and customer service skills
  • International CPC would be desirable, however knowledge of Transport law would be an advantage

Hours of Work: 4on 4off shift pattern, 12 hours plus hand-over. Days and Nights available.

Title: Customer Service - Maltby
Description:

We are looking to recruit a night Customer Service Admin based at our Head Office, Maltby, Rotherham.

Our transport office environment is very busy, therefore we need people who are happy to be kept busy and can work under pressure.  Provide dedicated customer service, have initiative and preferably worked within a logistics environment.

Summary of Position:

  • Engaging with the customer in a professional manner
  • To have full understanding on how to process customer orders
  • Monitoring jobs, progress chasing, ensuring vehicles are on time, update truckcom system report any delays to customers
  • Deal with any POD requests for customers assist with invoice queries report any unvoiced work
  • Dealing with customer enquiries promptly and providing excellent customer service
  • Sending and replying to all emails from customers with updates and lead times
  • Accessing TMS to check times of deliveries and loads are planned according
  • Charge the customer demurrage costs if the driver is held up, in line with the appropriate costs
  • Provide customers with a breakdown of deliveries & timings that day and confirmation for tomorrows loads.
  • Liaise with customers & co-ordinators to arrange returns back to customer
  • Reporting our major customer issues to management
  • Raise driver non-conformances and discuss with the customer
  • Produce KPI Reports for our customers performance daily/weekly report to Commercial manager
  • Maintain compliance of health & safety, ISO9001, 14001 & 18001 policies and procedures
  • Support any if needed to cover sickness & holidays
  • Carry out training in any other role and comply with correct processes

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Computer literate and preferably experienced with transport management systems
  • Have a good eye for attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to manage priorities, multi-task and achieve deadlines
  • Be a team player as well working on their own initiative

Title: Transport Operator Nights - Maltby
Description:

We are looking to recruit a night Transport Operator based at our Head Office, Maltby, Rotherham.

Our transport office environment is very busy, therefore we need people who are happy to be kept busy and can work under pressure.  Provide dedicated customer service, have initiative and preferably worked within a logistics environment.

 

Role will involve:

  • Ensure drivers have been pre briefed at start of their shift
  • Drivers are equipped with PPE and trained to use Green Groups Truckcom mobile tablet
  • Maintain company transport system (Truckcom) to monitor jobs, progress and keep on top of queries and ensure drivers are on track with their duties
  • Full communication with other members of the transport department and customer service team
  • De–brief drivers on return to the yard, ensure Tacho cards are downloaded, paperwork filled in correctly, folders are complete, POD’s scanned, vehicle is clean
  • Scan POD’s when necessary and retrain drivers as required
  • Check driver to ensure keys, mobile tablet and fuel cards are present, replenish paperwork
  • Raise any non-conformances immediately to relevant person and/or Line manager
  • Capture infringement reports for drivers and ensure driver is briefed and report is signed off
  • Defects reported are dealt with appropriately
  • General administration duties as required
  • Maintain compliance of H&S, ISO9001, 14001 and 18001, policies and procedures

 

 

Skills & Experience:

 

  • Proven experience in a similar position within a logistics environment
  • Good understanding of driver hours and road transport legislations
  • Computer literate and preferably experienced user of transport management systems
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Have a good eye for detail and accuracy
  • The ability to manage priorities, multi-task and achieve deadlines
  • Be a team player as well working on their own initiative

Role will involve:

  • Cost effective planning of vehicles to meet customer load plan, ensuring empty mileage is minimised.
  • Ensure all legal requirements are met including drivers hours and tacho requirements
  • Ensure data input on the TMS (Truck Com) is at an high standard and accurate
  • Full communication with other Transport Planners to combine freight where possible
  • Manage high levels of customer service, working closely with bookings team
  • Work with other networks to obtain back loads
  • Ensure decisions are taken with full knowledge of the P&L implications to the business
  • Communicate issues of resource to the transport manager
  • Maintain compliance of H&S, ISO9001, 14001 and 18001, policies and procedures

 

Skills & Experience:

  • CPC would be desirable but not essential
  • Working knowledge of driver hours regulations
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Previous experience of planning within a Transport / logistics organisation Essential
  • Working in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and react quickly to customer requirements

 

Hours of Work:  50 hours per week, 5 shifts, to include either a Saturday or Sunday
